Jack Lives Here

Labor Day is right around the corner, and that means football season is right around the corner! Jack is so excited about his first football season, it is all he can… well, talk about. Ok, drool about, but he’s still really really excited. He kind of gives away who is taking #1, in his fantasy draft in this video. Rumor on the street is he’s taking his mom as his quarterback. She’s got a pretty good arm, especially from picking Jack up.

I was reading that 5-8 months is the “golden age for babies”and it seems Jack is no exception.  He’s certainly entertaining!  He’s started to “inchworm” and is very focused on moving - lots of times it’s to get a toy or his pacifier if they’re out of reach.  He’s laughing more and is super interested in food or drinks that we’re eating. Pretty soon he’ll be crawling and talking!

Two new videos to check out. One is of Jack’s new trick, I think you’ll pick up quickly on what he’s trying to do from the music… and no, it’s not wranglin’ cattle. The other video shows how vocal Jack has become. Ok, maybe YOU can’t tell what he’s saying, but we can (see our responses in the subtitles).

It’s been a while, but we’ve resolved our camera issues so pictures coming more regularly now. Lots of new developments- Jack sleeps through the night thanks to our pediatrician who advised us to let him cry, which was painful but short lived - he learned to put himself to sleep in a week. The baby’s also able to grab, hold and mouth everything in sight - he’s also rolling over onto his stomach and can occasionally roll back over onto his back. He can also laugh which is the coolest thing! He’s still growing like a weed, (15 lbs. & 25 and a half inches) we can’t believe he’s almost 5 months old! Even though it’s way early, we bought Jack a Halloween costume so adorable & appropriate for the baby who likes to chomp.
